One of the ways to motivate yourself into action is to read motivational books. How many times have you been inspired to action by seeing what others have done? Even if the author is not going through your exact situation, just seeing what incredible obstacles others have overcome, will give you the strength to reach your dreams.

Here are some books that are sure to motivate you to action!

In this refreshingly entertaining how-to guide, bestselling author and world-traveling success coach, Jen Sincero, serves up 27 bite sized chapters full of hilariously inspiring stories, sage advice, easy exercises, and the occasional swear word, helping you to: Identify and change the self-sabotaging beliefs and behaviors that stop you from getting what you want, Create a life you totally love. And create it NOW, Make some damn money already. The kind you’ve never made before.

By the end of You Are a Badass, you’ll understand why you are how you are, how to love what you can’t change, how to change what you don’t love, and how to use The Force to kick some serious ass.

Everybody's Got SomethingEverybody's Got Something By Robin Roberts

Following her mother's advice to "make your mess your message," Robin taught a nation of viewers that while it is true that we've all got something -- a medical crisis to face, aging parents to care for, heartbreak in all its many forms --- we've also all got something to give: hope, encouragement, a life-saving transplant or a spirit-saving embrace. As Robin has learned, and what readers of her remarkable story will come to believe as well, it's all about faith, family and friends. And finding out that you are stronger, much stronger, than you think.

b2ap3_thumbnail_Woman_Kickboxing.pngMany women hold back from their dreams due to fear. Fear of failure, fear of success, fear of what others will say when they pursue their goals, and fear of the unknown keep too many women from the lives they truly deserve.

Here are some tips to bust through fear and reach your dreams.

Think objectively. Suppose a good friend was in your situation? What advice would you give her? Thinking of someone else will make you more objective. Now...take your own advice.  If someone else can make your suggested changes, so can you.

What’s the worst that can happen? Write down the worst-case scenarios for what can happen as you reach your goals? Then list solutions to those issues.

This will do two things:

      1.    It will show you that you have much less to fear than you thought you did.

      2.    It will prepare you for any problems that may arise on your journey. A prepared woman has nothing to fear.

Focus on the positive. List the positive ways your life will change as you reach your goals. Keep your list where you will see it every day. You can only concentrate on one thing at a time. When you are thinking about the wonderful ways your life will expand, you are pushing fear aside.

So give fear a well-deserved kick in the ass and reach your dreams today!

b2ap3_thumbnail_Woman_Bubbles.jpgThere many keys to happiness. Here are three of my favorites.

Give yourself permission to dream. Children dream of becoming astronauts, ballerinas, queens and more. As we mature, we often lose our ability to dream big. We feel silly, or worse, unworthy of reaching lofty goals.

Allow yourself to dream big. Dreams urge us forward in life. Look for opportunities to bring your dreams to fruition. As you take steps toward a more abundant life, enjoy the journey. That’s the juice of life!

Don’t look to others for your happiness. You are the only one who can fulfil your desires.  The saying that “happiness comes from within” is true. What happens when you depend on someone else for your joy and that person leaves your life? Create a full life of joyful activities for yourself. The good people you allow into your life are simply icing on the cake.

Make sacred time for yourself. Women are often so busy caring for others on the job, at home, as volunteers, that we don’t have time for ourselves. Set aside one day per week meant just for you. If a full day isn’t possible, then set an evening or afternoon when no one is allowed to bother you.

Use that time to nurture yourself. Do something that makes you happy. Take a bubble bath with scented candles and wine. Spend an afternoon shopping or going to a movie. Veg out on the couch with your favorite ice cream while you watch old movies. This is your time. Indulge!

You get the picture. To enjoy a happy life, dream big, look within and indulge yourself. You’ll be glad you did!

b2ap3_thumbnail_Woman_Freedom.jpgDo you feel trapped in your present life? Are you tired of your job, your relationship, your financial condition? Most women feel trapped when they are afraid or reluctant to break out of their comfort zones.

Pushing aside fear to try something new is the path to living your most abundant life.

Here are 3 steps to move your life forward and reach your dreams.

1. Reframe your current situation.  See the positive sides of life. For example, instead of thinking of your employment as a job, see your employers as your “financial investors.” They are investing in your future and keeping you afloat as you work toward your dreams. Reframing your situation, keeps you in a positive frame of mind so you can move forward.

2. Balance your life. Take time to dream about how you’d like your life to be. Then take an action step toward that ideal lifestyle. Dream, action, dream, action...  Take it one step at a time. Let the momentum build as you get closer to your goals. You’ll be surprised at how your life expands.

3. Be patient with yourself. We all do it. We want everything right now! Celebrate each small step you make. Tiny steps may not seem like much at the time, but one day you will look back and see you have traveled miles from where you started.

Set aside laziness, reluctance and fear. Start taking steps to reach your ideal life today. You will be delighted and surprised at how much more your life can be. Enjoy!

b2ap3_thumbnail_Woman_Superhero.jpgWe all deserve fabulous lives, but how do we achieve one?

Here are top ten shifts in perspective that can help you move your life to the next level. These steps will assist you in breaking through your personal glass ceiling to create the life you really want.

1. Give yourself permission to dream. You probably had no problem dreaming as a kid. What happened to your ability to imagine and dream about what you want and who you want to be? When was the last time you allowed yourself to daydream?

2. Stop looking outside yourself for happiness. Look inside. Increase your self-awareness. Get curious about who you are at the core. Cultivate and nurture a relationship with yourself.

3. Cover the basics. Take the time to address your personal needs. How can you focus on thriving in your life if you are in survival mode? Set up that meeting with a financial advisor, get your space organized, clean up the details that are wasting your energy.

4. Embrace your past and move on. Shift from “why it happened” to what I want to do about it now. Asking “why” is important so you will not repeat the action, but asking how I want to proceed now can be much more powerful and produce forward movement.

5. Remember that you are not alone. It is easy to feel overwhelmed with life. Seek support from trusted friends and family or from a professional advisor. They might help you figure about some things that are puzzling you.

b2ap3_thumbnail_Road.jpgWe all have times when we are down on ourselves, but there are easy ways to combat those feelings of low self-esteem. Take these tiny steps to boost your self-image. You’ll be surprised at the results.

Get better everyday.

Plan to do one thing today that will help you improve physically, intellectually, emotionally or spiritually.  Making just one change for the better will boost your attitude from the inside out. Don’t try to change everything at once. Just choose one area and make one improvement.

Little things add up.

It's amazing, really. The seemingly meaningless things you do for yourself may not have immediate results, but after just a short period of time they'll have you looking and feeling better.  So add those bubbles to your bath, make sure you eat your vegetables, get enough sleep, think of doing something fun when you have nothing to do and the results will be worth it.

Take another look in the mirror.

When we’re not feeling our best, we may want to pull our hair into a ponytail, throw on old sweats and slouch out the door. Instead, take an extra minute or two to put on a good pair of jeans and an extra swipe of mascara. It will make all the difference in how you feel about yourself when you leave home.

Appreciate the good things in your life.

To get that attitude going the right way, you need to appreciate your blessings. In our down times, we forget how blessed we re. All of us have many gifts. Just pick one and focus on that. You may think of the loving family you have or the food in your fridge, or just the warmth of a hot shower. Remembering how fortunate we are lessens any sadness we may be experiencing.

Any of these steps will go a long way to improving your mental state. Just take one and start the journey back to good self-esteem.

b2ap3_thumbnail_Yoga.jpgHave you ever let a negative experience ruin your day? It happens to all of us.

For example, when you were a child, if your goldfish dies, you would be heartbroken. Your parents will probably buy you another goldfish but the sorrow is still there.

Things get even more complex when you become an adult. A fight with your spouse the night before will affect your entire day. You will go to work angry, tired, and your mind will wander. On the way home from work you will not notice the sun shining and you would not be tempted to stop at a roadside stand to pick up some fresh fruits and vegetables.

All this because that one negative thought has contaminated the way you perceive the reality around you.

Finding a safe place to relax your mind will do wonders for your emotional and mental improvement. That place is relatively easy to find. It can be an actual place or an imaginary location. The best idea is to totally lose yourself in it.

Let us say you have a problem on your mind and it just would not go away. Go bowling. Do not know how? Just give it a shot. Get caught up in the game. Your mind will drift away from the negative thoughts that dominated your last hours or days and start processing a whole new kind of information.

A safe haven can take many forms. It can be a song, a movie, even a person or animal. The main thing is to allow yourself to get completely involved with this new activity.

b2ap3_thumbnail_Choice.jpgYour choices have power. Decision-making skills are necessary to make vital life changes. Successful people make good decisions. They take the time to calmly review their options to make their best choices.

Be aware of your choices. Bring your decision-making to the front of your mind. Think about what you choose to eat, with whom and how you decide to spend your time, how you spend your money.

Are your choices bringing you closer to your dreams?  Think about that with each choice you make.
